4-piece rock band
A typical four-piece layout places drums upstage centre, bass and guitar amplification behind or beside the relevant players, and vocal positions across the front line with wedges pointing back toward each performer.
5-piece function or wedding band
Function bands often add keys, additional vocals and playback, so leave enough stage space for keyboard stands, stereo DIs, additional monitor mixes and power.
Acoustic duo
An acoustic duo can often keep the plan very simple: two vocal positions, one or two instrument DIs and two monitors. A clear small setup is easier for a venue to reproduce quickly.
Solo performer
A solo singer-guitarist may only need a vocal microphone, instrument DI, wedge and power. Artists using backing tracks should show the playback device and stereo output requirements.
