IEM BAND EXAMPLE

Band stage plot with in-ear monitoring

A stage-plot example showing how to communicate an IEM-based setup without burying the venue in unnecessary rack detail.

What changes with IEMs?

The physical plot can become simpler because wedge positions disappear. The technical notes become more important: the venue needs to know whether the band carries its own IEM rack, whether signals must be split, and which outputs or feeds are expected from house production.

Information the venue needs

Keep the patch understandable

If your rack takes every stage input before splitting to front of house, send an input list that matches the labels on the rack. Consistent labels such as KICK, SNARE, BASS DI and VOX 1 are much easier to troubleshoot.

Important: describe the interface between your system and the venue. The engineer does not need every internal cable in the rack unless it affects that hand-off.

Build your own version

Use the free Stageplot builder to arrange the stage, edit the input list and export the finished technical rider as a PDF.
