What is an input list?
An input list tells the sound engineer which sources need to connect to the mixing console and how each source should be captured. The channel order can vary, but the important thing is that every input is clearly identified.
Typical band inputs
A rock band might include kick, snare, toms, overheads, bass DI, guitar amplifier microphones, keyboards or playback in stereo, and vocal microphones. Your exact list should match the arrangement you actually perform with.
Include useful technical information
- Channel number
- Instrument or source
- Mic, DI or line connection
- Performer name
- 48V phantom power where needed
Start with an automatic list
Add your performers first and Stageplot will create a sensible starting channel list that you can reorder and edit.
